Matthew Matlock
Landscape Designer
A musician, foodie, golfer, and traveler, Landscape Designer Matthew Matlock takes pride in all his creative ventures—from playing bass guitar on stage and in the studio, to smoking pork belly for homemade tacos. As a child, Matthew spent his time drawing and playing Minecraft. He says he always knew he would pick a career path focused on design. While he originally enrolled in the Architecture school at Texas Tech, he was drawn to the multi-faceted nature of Landscape Architecture, and the way it falls in the intersection of many of his other interests, like plants, fauna, people, and culture. He made the switch to study Landscape Architecture right before his first semester at Tech and has not looked back since. Matthew spends much of his free time traveling around the state to try new BBQ joints, visit historic sites, attend concerts, and go hiking.
