Becky Chang
Landscape Architecture Intern
We’d like to welcome our Summer 2026 Intern Becky Chang to the Pland Albuquerque office! Becky is a Landscape Architecture Master’s student at Texas A&M with a keen interest in getting into the nitty gritty details of planting design—from irrigation to plant spacing. Originally from Taiwan, she is proud of the effort she’s put into her two years of study abroad; she’s had to tackle the challenge of using a different language, learn other people’s culture, and make new friends. She finds the differences in landscape architecture styles to be fascinating—in Taiwan the scale of design is much smaller because of limited space whereas the scale of design in Texas and New Mexico is much larger. She is grateful for the different viewpoints she has received about global and western design through her international study experience.
Becky grew up camping in the mountains of Taiwan with her family, an experience that allowed her to develop an affinity for the natural world and learn about local plants and animals. She wants her career as a landscape architect to help her bring the experiences of nature to both urban and rural residents. She also travels to Japan almost every year with her family and looks forward to going to new cities and seeing new gardens. In her spare time, she loves to cook, especially Japanese dishes like sushi, curry, and tempura.
