Kristina Werenko, PLA, ASLA
Principal Landscape Architect
Red hair, brown thumb.
Kristina is a little embarrassed to admit she's still trying to figure out how to grow a successful vegetable garden. Not that landscape architects ought to have gardening skills by default, but we do put unnecessary pressure on ourselves.Who needs blue ribbon tomatoes, anyway? Kristina is too busy winning international design competitions, teaching UNM grad students to produce killer construction documents, designing elegant skate deterrent handrails, exploring the wild with her adventurous family, and sharing a good meal with friends. But it's Kristina's passion for landscape architecture – the wonderful fusion of creativity and science, people and places, form and function – that makes her excited to come to work every day and to share that passion with other creative people.
