Joe Godfrey
Landscape Designer
The son of a history teacher and landscape maintenance business owner, Joe Godfrey is a passionate reader of history books and biographies, currently cruising through tomes about Tiger Woods and Abraham Lincoln. He’s also taken on his dad’s passion for thoughtful landscapes— he loves being a landscape designer because he wants to help his city by providing sustainable solutions to environmental problems while also giving people a more beautiful place to live. For his college capstone project Joe developed a design to convert a decommissioned golf course into a nature reserve in San Antonio, TX. This project involved rewilding the fairways, creating biking and walking trails throughout the site, and installing observation towers to allow visitors to observe the diverse plants and animals in the area. Joe and his fiancé relocated to Albuquerque from Lubbock, TX this winter and are enjoying their first big leap in their journey together by exploring new golf courses and urban Mecca Costco, hiking near their home in the Sandia foothills, and nomming on wood-oven pizza at Il Vecino.
